Base FX was initiated in 2003 as a partnership between a renowned Beijing vfx training school and the company's founder, Chris Bremble, to create visual effects for independent films in Hollywood. After three years working primarily on creature and scifi films, the company was formally founded in 2006 with a team of 12 artists in Beijing, all with a background in visual effects training. This core team provided Base with the most experienced creative management team in China, and built the foundation for a culture of creative innovation and client services that have propelled Base into a leading position in China's visual effects industry. Six years later, the company has completed work on over 60 feature films, provided services to all the major Hollywood studios, developed relationships with the top Mainland and Hong Kong directors, received an Emmy for its work HBO's "The Pacific," and a second Emmy for its continuing work on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire." In May of 2011 the Company moved into a state of the art facility in the heart of Beijing. The Company expects to double in size again in 2012, with new opportunities and new partnerships on the horizon.
